Creative Arts Therapy for Coping, Healing, and Connecting

Description: This is a closed group for young adults between the ages of 18-25 who are experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety. The current health crisis has contributed to increased isolation, decreased ability to access resources, and difficulty fostering peer connections. Within this experiential group, we will address some of these issues by discussing symptoms, exploring Creative Arts Therapy coping skills, and increasing a sense of authentic connection through group dialogue and shared verbal/nonverbal processing. We will incorporate drawing, collage, and mixed media in every group. No previous art experience is required.

Registration: Email Sarah at Once an initial screening interview is completed and payment has been made, participants will receive their art kit in the mail and an email with a Zoom link before the first session.

Dates: This is an 8 week group that will be held on Tuesdays from 10:00-11:30AM. The starting date is TBD but will likely begin in mid to late August, 2020.

Fees and included materials: Sessions are $50 each for a total of $400. The total sum can be paid at the beginning of the 8 weeks, or individuals can choose to pay weekly. An art kit is included in the cost which will contain a curated selection of materials specifically for this group. The kit will be mailed to participants before the first session. *Please inquire about sliding scale fee options.

Requirements: Access to a stable internet connection and either a smart phone, tablet, or computer. We will be using the Zoom platform, which is completely free to participants.
